Panda Says Sorry
One big plop, then dig, dig, dig
Down by the lake, Luna digs a little hole in the warm sand, just the right size. Then big Panda comes to look and sits down, plop, right on top of it.

Panda naps on the dock. Luna finds warm sand. “Dig, dig, dig!” Luna makes a hole just the right size. Yip, yip! Panda sits down. Plop! Right on Luna’s hole. Luna’s ears go flat. Panda says sorry, nose to nose. Then Panda digs, Luna digs too, and the hole gets big enough for two!
About this book
Little ones squash things by accident all the time: a cup tower, a sandcastle, a friend’s drawing. Here it is Panda who plops down in the wrong spot. He didn’t mean it, and he still sees Luna’s flat ears and makes it right.
His sorry comes in two parts, and both are easy for a toddler to copy: head low and nose to nose, then paws in the sand to help. Read it after a mix-up of your own, or before a trip to the beach or the sandbox. Then ask: what did Panda do once he said sorry?
