Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility is part of how we build and review every page, not an afterthought.
What we do
Text and background colours are chosen to meet AA contrast, and we avoid faint low-opacity text.
Every page has a single main heading, clear landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer), and a visible focus outline on every link and button.
Images carry descriptive alternative text, and decorative artwork is hidden from screen readers.
Motion is gentle and consistent, and we fully respect your device's “reduce motion” setting — animations and the intro are turned off when you ask your system to reduce motion.
A “skip to content” link lets keyboard users jump straight past the navigation.
Forms, like the “Email me when it's ready” sign-up, have visible labels, and their confirmation and error messages are announced to screen readers.
Our interactive displays, such as the 3D bookshelf, are extras: every product is also listed as a plain link on the Shop page.
Checkout
When you pay, you move to Stripe's secure checkout page. Stripe runs that page and maintains its own accessibility. If anything there gets in your way, email us and we'll help you complete your order.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is never “finished.” We review new pages against our checklist and welcome reports of anything that gets in your way.
