From the back cover

Up on the breezy clover hill, Luna dashes off with a bright kite. But it only bumps and flops. Panda sniffs it all over. “Hmm,” he says. “What happened?” A loop of string! A twisted tail! “Try. Notice. Change.” Slow, steady Tilly the tortoise reaches the top just in time to watch the kite fly.

About this book

Luna’s first plan is to run faster. It doesn’t work, and her tail sinks into the grass. What changes is not her speed but her looking: she follows the string back to see what went wrong, and the next time the kite dips, she stops and checks before she runs.

Take it outside on a windy day, or read it after a block tower falls. A good question for afterward: what did Luna notice the second time? And keep an eye on Tilly, who climbs the hill at her own speed while all of this happens.
