From the back cover

Fresh snow means snowdog time! Panda builds a round, smooth snowdog. Luna’s wobbles, leans, and has one floppy ear. “Mine is wrong,” she says. “It’s different from mine,” says Panda. Luna takes a second look. That floppy ear seems to be listening! “Different can still be wonderful,” Luna says, this time for herself.

About this book

Luna doesn’t get talked out of her feeling. Panda takes a long look at her snowdog before he answers, and the second look is Luna’s own. So is the twig smile, the three pinecone spots, and the choice to leave the lean just as it is.

Read it on a snow day, or after art time when someone is unhappy with their picture. Then ask your child what they like about something they made, the way Luna comes to like the listening ear.
